The helix I have in it is gold in color and has no markings. Anyone know what the angle could be? and do I have to use this same kind because it seems different than the stock helix? It came with the sled. Also the spring has no color on it?

If you unscrew the three allen head bolts that hold the helix and bearing carrier together the anles should be stamped on the bottom. Advant-ege Motorsports made these for Bender and that is usually where they stamped the angles. You can only use an Advantage helix, as far as the spring goes, green at 70 twist or red at 80 as a starting point.

There are about 30 different angles. As triple x said check the bottom of the helix. It should be there. I have 8 of em & thats where all of em are marked.

Thanks, I'll check that spot as I haven't yet. I had whatever spring it is @ 70 and it was almost like a jakebrake when i let off, so I went to 60 and I'll try that when I can get on some snow.

I found out this 01 has a 99 primary clutch on it. It had 40/10 heelclickers til a rock managed to blow that clutch apart, so the previous owner just grabbed a used primary and 8dn10's is what it's got now with a y-w-y spring. I've been looking for 8dn20's but I haven't seen any for sale. Should I just get them from portyamaha? It revs 8600 to 9000 as it is set up now. :whine:

we need to know the rest of the secondary setup for sure and it would be a good idea to get some 8dn-20's, as you'll most likely need some more primary weight.

I pulled the secondary apart and it has a 47/43 helix. I picked up a green spring and it has smaller diameter and is longer than the unmarked spring that was in there. I also picked up 8BU-00, but I'm hesitant on installing them because I mostly trail ride. Can I get enough weight in the tip to keep it trailable? Or should I just keep looking for 8DN-20's?

Your helix is way too steep for 8bu weights. It will act like a 57/53...not gonna work..at all!

I have some advantedge helix,s for sale for the gen 1 roller .
