Have a 2001 700MM sled with the 141 inch track, what would be required to change to a 144 inch track? has anyone done that?

When I did mine a few years back (151 now), I ended up using an offset axle and 8" wheels to make up the 1.5" needed. A cheaper option would be to just set the skid back 1.5" in the tunnel.

Rail Extensions to convert 141 to 144 would be easy, or set back skid or maybe just 9" rear idler wheeler and offset axle.
If you're going to stretch it out, go with at least 151, I dont think you will see any difference from 141-144 IMO.
My 2004 MNT Viper has a 156" track with just rail extensions-its the way I bought it used. Works good.

I've never seen extensions for 141-144. Only talking 1.5" so I'm not sure how that would work with the axle slot in the rail. Not saying it can't be done, just haven't seen it.
When I went to a 144 it wasn't to stretch it out, it was to replace the HORRIBLE Yokahama track that came stock. 141 2.52 pitch tracks are hard to come by - especially in the used market. Most around are all 3.0 pitch.
I agree - if the goal is to be longer, 151 minimum is the way to go.

Thanks for the input, my goal is to replace the existing track with the 144 which are readily available. Sounds like moving the suspension back by 1.5 inches is the easiest and least expensive. Is there any draw backs to this change?

i have seen guys put extraverts on and use no extensions and stock wheels and and ran a 144.the track runs too loose but it works.for about 150 bucks you can buy proper extensions

Who offers the track extensions? I know of Mountain Performance, not sure if they offer extensions for what I am looking for. Thanks for the input

hartman inc offers them for 95 bucks.the only drawback with this is you hae to cut the back of the rail off

151 is the answer
I had the same question a few years ago. I came to the realization that going to a 151 was the way to go. Best decision I made. MPI was a little slow at getting me the extension kit, but it worked great. Climbed better, could still boondock great, and went throught the pow like crazy. 151 tracks with the 2.5" pitch have been available at Haydays, Craigslist, Snowest, and here. Used extension kits can be found too.
Here's the kicker: The 151 track I bought weighed the same as the heavy Yokohama 141 without porting it.

I have 2 2001 mm 700, I have put 151 's on both of them. 1 is piped ,the other is stock. I really wish I had put a 153 or better on the piped one. Kicking myself for not doing it, cause I think it has enough power to turn more than 151.. My 2 cents
