Srx Cdi Rev Limiter?

Does the SRX CDI have an actual Rev limiter, or does it effectively do so by retarding the timing to zero by 9200RPM or so?
If it has a Rev Limiter, what does it hold the engine RPM to?

Power falls off on a stock machine at 8400ish. No rev limiter but it retards timing after 8500.
