whats a good battery

The only batteries I will buy if I intend to keep and use them are YUASA. They are just about the best battery out there....And you know it when you go to pay for them too....Those are standard Yamaha/Honda equipment, so you know they must be good.
 
I agree that Yuasa is the best, but I've also had good luck with Bikemaster batteries which are much cheaper and have lasted just as long. I do keep my batteries maintained in the off season so that helps with any battery.
 
I have ran Oddessey batteries for years now. Crank way better, and out last stock by a mile. The are glass mat batteries so you can mount them in almost any posistion you want. They are for sale on ebay all the time. Maxdlx
 
Yuasa has been having issues for the last 6-8 months, I always used them, but with the problems the shop has been having with them as of late, I am now using a Bikemaster that is 1/3 the cost, and if it lasts 2 seasons, its still covered by the price difference alone.
 
yuasa batteries are now china and taiwan made......argh. bikemaster is china too......argh. interstate is still about the best you can buy now, even tho they're taiwan made now. some people have been having trouble w/the interstates, but it seems about the best you can buy. i put a cheap bikemaster in my R1 bike this summer and it started leaking w/in 3 days. acid ran down my frame and onto the swingarm, causing that corrosion looking crap. i was pissed. took the battery back and bought a interstate. no leakage now. yuasa used to be real good too....when they were made in japan and usa. now that they are made in china, its questionable.

Where did you hear that bit of wrong info?

US made Johnson Controls makes most the common batters out there, including DieHard (Sears), Duralast (AutoZone), Interstate, Kirkland (Costco), Motorcraft (Ford) as well as some EverStart for wally-world.


i agree there about the best,it's all i buy..
 
You won’t beat an ODYSSEY battery. The Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) design also makes it perfect for snowmobile applications. An AGM battery will handle constant pounding, vibration, cold temps and deep cycling which destroys traditional lead acid battery. Well worth the few extra $$$ for a battery that will probably last twice as long. They are also completely contained so no need to top up fluids and will not spill if cracked.

I've done a lot of work and research with lead acid batteries over the years for remote electronic surveillance and these are the best. They are also the brand my company integrates into products designed for the US and CDN forces and defence contracting is all we do.

Very highly recommended. SNOWRULES know a place in Ottawa that sells them too. Can’t remember what its called, but you can find it on the Odyssey website.

pretty sure it ain't wrong info there DAMAN!! pretty sure on the side of the box and battery it says, "Made in Taiwan". says so right on the side of my buddies interstate battery in his honda bike. the one in my R1 in taiwan made too.
 
I like the 2yr warrenty on the odessy I just baught a battery 8months ago piece of junk motomaster good for nothing. and it only has a 6month warrenty.

i think the interstates are down to a 9 month warranty now.

Google Interstate....by Johnson Controls,, SOME......are made in Mexico,last post anyway not worth the energy to type it,has no relevant to this post.
