I just rebuilt my top end in my viper and am still on my first tank witch is premixed 50:1. Today I went I took it on the pond and was taking a couple passes but twice the detination light cme on on two of the passes. when it came on I let of and the light went away. I was wondering if the premix could have been causing this? Maybe some one has experienced this?

How's your clutching and exhaust? any loud noise like a rattle or leak could set DCS off just something else to consider.

is the sled stock?

I have the hauck tripple pipes on it. I sealed them all with high temp sealant and the clutching seems spot on reving right at 9100. hauck recomends 8900 too 9200

Someone else can chime in also but i heard tripple pipes on a vipe may set DCS sometimes,is it jetted properly? not to lean? are your sure???

This wasn't that long wide open I say from a dead stop to only 80 to 90 mph id say which dosn't take that long. This thing going to do this everytime I wan't to race? Really that common hu

all the extra oil in the gas will cause the mixture to run lean. there is less fuel and more oil in the mix..you didn't peel your head gasket on a piped viper did you??

Try running a full fill up of premium. If the light still comes on, add a half bottle of octane 101 + to see if that heeds off detonation

what tom said...

True.....

but if it's like most vipers the oil pump is running lean so the added oil shouldnt make too much diff, but then again it could, run that tank out put fresh prem highest you can find and see what happens.
