Last week after many many pulls on this recoil it decided to just flake out on me. It started up, and then basically the rope just un-raveled itself somehow while I was riding back to where my truck was. Did not even notice it was until I shut it off and was fuggered as I couldn't start it anymore.
Now got home, removed it, the recoil itself was still good, no cracks and did not jump out of its place. The spring was good, everything in fact was still perfect, only thing is it popped out of I guess its little slot where the coil goes into the spool.
Now my question it, since I fixed it and seems ok now, is this a normal thing to happen, of should I be looking for something else. I just do not want to be out on the trail and having to fix it again.
