My 2001 SRX was running fine so far this year - shut it off and then wouldn't fire up. Has no spark to all 3 cylinders. Checked kill switch, key switch, wiring, disconnected lights - everything seems to be ok.

There are 5 wires coming out of motor, 3 of them have power and 2 are dead. Could this be contributing to the problem? Any idea if this would indicated a problem with stator?

THANKS!!!!!

Pierre

the first thing I would check is the wiring harness that runs under the motor. You could have a rub-through somewhere in those wires. They are famous for doing that. If you find any bare wires, electric tape them individually and wrap in automotive flex tubing. and tape again.

If that doesn't reveal any problems you could also check your pickup coil on the stator. Best way to check is find where he wires connect to the harness (just in front of your brake rotor) and do a resistance check to see if its in spec. Might not be your problem but I had a similar issue with mine and this was the problem. Sled was working great when I shut it down. Went to restart and had nothing.

Also check the relays they let power through to the lights after the sled starts. maybe the relay isnt letting any power through....
