Hey i was wandering if anybody has run into this before i have a 98 srx if i let it iddle it will foul a plug or if i start it cold and and dont ride for a second before i get after it it will foul a plug but when it wants too run rite it runs like you wouldnt believe all kinds of power dont skip nothing plugs come out perfect color and everything if you can help let me know im about ready too have a bomb fire with a sweet srx on the top of the pile :nos:

Are your carbs clean? Should be able to run all season on one set of plugs.....

I agree carb problem. Keep in mind when your sled is running great its running on the main jet and needle circuit. When you first fire up the sled its running on choke and pilot jet and fuel screw. Verify these circuits are clean, adjusted and sized correctly.

I had the same problem with mine, switched plugs to NGK BRE 9AY. Theyre more of an antifouling plug, since i put those in, no problems at idle
I wouldnt recommend this as to me its more of a "band aid" fix then really gettin to the root of the problem.

My buddy's 98 SRX has the same problem. They tend to run rich at idle. Use the BR9ECS plugs as they will last longer before fouling, the copper core aids in keeping you from detonating at WOT on a hot engine.

My 2000 SRX has carb issues, so I foul 2 plugs only. Gotta synchronize, rebuild.
Better yet, avoid idling -- PIN IT!
