raced my brothers 04 rev 600 ho. stock to my 99 srx 700 stock across lake he beat me from start to finish and pulled away. need help with this problem thought this sled would waste him what can i do?
What is your sleds setup? Clutching, track, studs? Have you cleaned and adjusted your powervalves lately?

cluches stock i think. valves clean carbs clean 1.25 preador track 144 picks. seems to only tack at 7800 rpm
must have somthing with your power valve .. make sure no pull thru

no pull through checked them all!
u will need to let uss know your clutch setup(weight-spring color and secondary helix and wrap )

Are the PV's opening? Check the servo is working on a track stand.
Sounds like you do have a pv issue. Take em apart & check as the only way ur turning 7800 with the srx is if you have some pull thru,s or motor is down on compression.

Maybe PV servo motor, or try a new set of plugs, maybe you got a fouled one.

just a thought but if the sled is new to you have you confirmed gearing is stock?
Has the sled ever run at 84-8500 rpm's for you?? That's where you need to be...

start with plugs..... 120 psi is low... I have 142 across all three............

all compression testers are different... one can read 140 across for all three and use a dif one and it can read 120 across the same 3... the only way you can tell if its low more or less is if they are not all the same psi..
Mine is running 121 across all 3...for the specific compression tester and its running strong...
def sounds like theres something with the pv's... idle down ur sled and see if the servo motor is workin...

my buddies have a couple of srx 2001 set up for trail the will consistintly smoke alot off zr 800 and 900 there must be something wrong

did you take your parking brake off? :-) does it stay at 7800 once it gets there or do you have a hard time keeping it there? where did you store your sled during the summer? I bet something's made a nest in your exhaust, maybe not enough to block it completely, but enough to do this.
