02 viper er

When sitting overnight in about 15 degree F the next morning with choke on it takes near ten/12 seconds to start hitting. Seems long to me,from then on all is good.
Carbs are spotless, pilots at 1 7/8 and floats at manual spec. Other than a long start time the engine runs great, perfect warm starts.
Premium gas and Interceptor oil.
Choke, throttle cable free play is spec.

Too long or normal crank time ?

thanks

Using higher octane my be your problem as it burns cooler, try 89..... and see if that makes a difference......

I wouldn't worry too much. Could just be bad gas, see what happens after next fill up. Use higher octane too.

I was out this weekend riding with morning temps in the -20 to -30 degree range and my 02 Viper with 92 octane would crank over for about 5 seconds at full choke before starting for the first time.
