Ran that in my 600 for a couple years. Worked good. I seem to remember running a spring with a bit more preload and skipping the shims.

Tony we have been running the BU10"s in our radar run sleds for the past couple years. They have proven to be a winning cobination on a stock 700SRX. Big top end #'s

Thanks guys!!! This gives me a couple more setups to ponder!!! What brand helix? I know they can be really different between manufactures. Whats the backshift like?

Run an average cut helix like a hauck. You don,t get 8bu,s for backshift. Do you want fast acceleration or backshift?
You can not have both...please pick 1 or the other!!!

The curvature of the weight amplifies the aggressiveness. Alltho only 48 grams it shifts out a lot more aggressive then it,s mass indicates. That means you need a lot less weight to achieve proper rpm,s.

After looking at the graphs it looks obvious that the 8BU-10 has greater upshift force at the end of the ramp in comparison to the 8DN. At a glance the 8DN is deff meatier at the tip so that prob explains why the 8BU-10 curvature/profile allows the belt squeeze with less tip weight than the 8DN-20...

8bu10's or Heel Clickers?
Yamigod, how do you find the 10's compare to the 40\10 clickers? When I bought my 780 they came with 10's 4.5 in both holes@45\39 helix. The rpms were spot on but they did'nt seem to have that instant snap on the bottom and that wicked backshift that you get with the clickers. For trail riding and drags to 600' what would you go with?

VIPER, YOUR COMPARISON WOULD BE MORE IN ORDER BETWEEN H/C AND 8BU-00. BOTH AWSOME FOR DRAG RACING WITH THE H/C HAVE A SLIGHT EDGE BECAUSE THEY ARE REAL TUNER FRIENDLY. FOR TRAIL, 8BU-10 ALL THE WAY. FOR SATURDAY AFTERNOON SNOW RACING YOUR BUUDIES , 8BU-10 ALL THE WAY. FOR ICE OR GRASS, THE OTHER TWO. 3:16 (yammie tony)
