I had 22/40 gearing with 8 tooth drivers ,which was a 2.045:1 gear ratio with a 2" track 54/44 helix wrapped at 60 with 8dn 20's with 3.5 in tip and 5.5 in second hole, on my 121 srx. Top speed was too slow for me, bottom end was great but I was gettin very poor gas mileage. I went and hauled everything apart today again, and changed my gearing to Viper stock gearing. which is 22/38 but I have 8 tooth drivers and 2" track. Now is a 1.94:1, All the power is still there but more speed and better gas mileage! Well to make a long story short, My Rpm haven't changed, at WOT 8200 then raise to 8400 Why is my sled so strange? Shouldn't my rpm drop because of the change in gearing?

I have 23/37 gears in mine with 8 tooth drives & 1 1/4" ripsaw. works out to be 1.81 final ratio. I don't have much seat time yet this year but seems good so far. You may want to be a little lower than me with the 2" track?

Yeah I was thinkin on going back to the stock srx gearing, if it would be geared low enough to turn the 2". Stock gearing with 9 tooth is 1.6:1 so i figured if I stayed around 1.8:1 I would be low enough
