2002 SRX DCS Experiences

Great posts guys!

I finally got out riding the other day and barely ever see the dcs come on. I filled with Ultra 94(Sunoco) and I had slight DCS flashes on the way home but not doing a wide open run. I was doing 100km/hr down the trail at a steady cruising throttle. The theory about Ultra 94 running hotter possibly may be my issue.

WHat do u guys think??? thanks

So I'm not the only one.. The only other time I've ever seen it flash when riding with my dad is in low snow conditions, coolant light doesn't come on his SRX but my viper usually puts the light on. Thought he had a bad sensor or something... everything checks out and it flashes 3 times along with the DCS light at start up like normal. It will also flash when hard on the throttle and running say 87 octane.

Hi. I have resolved this issue, the cure was a fully clipped track and dupont slides.

I was going to replace my track on my newly acquired 02 SRX and I stumbled upon this thread. The track I picked up has every third window closed. Is this a guaranteed problem for tripping the DCS or are there people using tracks that aren't fully clipped that don't have a problem?

i think the guys that did not have an issue used glide pads on the closed windows. last time i delt with that style track, i opened all the windows with a hole saw and it does not seem to drag that sled down any but only a 400 air cool.

what are the glide pads? I tried to search but couldn't find anything. I can open the track windows if it helps but maybe I should try looking for a different track? Is it a vibrations problem for the sensor or a heat thing?

they where a plastic pad that would get mounted in the middle of the closed window on the closed every 3rd track.

i would just open the windows and give it a try. you can always add clips if you want later.

i think it is an engine load issue as on the 05 sx venture dad has with it, it would only trip on wot lake pulls and i was running 91 octane fuel in the sled. same set up with a fully clipped ripsaw or composit that is on it now, never see the dcs any more on the long wot runs.
