Hi,
I was replacing the key and assembly for my speedo. I finally drilled out the shaft and got the unit out. Tapped the new one in and now the housing and spacer are to far away. My first attempt I drilled a screw in and was prying on it. I heard a pop and thought the metal around the bearing moved. I did not think much of it at the time thinking that the aluminum might have moved away from the bearing. I can't tell if I bent the aluminum or moved the shaft over. The bearing did not look bad at all-I was trying to fix the speedo because the speedo cable wore through on the frame and rusted tight. Now what?
I am a newbie what does the large nut on the outside of the bearing do?
