I have a 99 srx for drag racing and trying to set it up for the ice. ,On the transfer rods, . which way do you turn them for more transfer? clockwise or counter clockwise? Iam not sure of the brand if that matters, they are all black and spring loaded.

you want to open the gap on top, will let the suspension transfer more before coupling.
How much do you have to go, like one rotation? will that make quite difference, basically, does a little go a long way?

if they're close now a little wont change much, seems like the more you go it amplifies itself, find a good launch area & do some testing. Your skis pointing at the sky doesn't mean it's fast, a little ski lift is all you want, sometimes one ski still dragging, use all your energy to go forward, not up.

On mine it took two full turns to move one line.....roughly 1/8". I would crank two turns each side to raise the top gap and test it like ottawaair said. Find a nice safe test area and see how much is too much, and back off some.
