Ok went riding the last 2 days with my new 48.7 hh's. My sled is a 2002 ported srx. I set them up as follows.
2.1 heel
4.2 middle
5.6 tip
black hh spring 150/300
Micro belmont 52/46 helix green spring at both 60 and 70. Sled pulls real hard but only wants to hit 8000 rpm's. Should I go with less helix or take some weight out of the tip?

always adjust rpm with the primary, sounds like you're too heavy on the tip.

cory, how do clutches feel? does it hit 8000 right away and then just stay there? need a little better discription of what rpm's do from dead stop to the top. i used a 50/40 bender on my buddies '00 stocker and it worked great. what's your engagement? also, i noticed w/HH's, that when i had long set screws or even anything in there for that matter, that it would affect mid rpms and top rpms. if you notice, that heel threaded hole goes in there, all the way to the middle hole thread, so when you thread in a set screw or whatever, some of that mass is right by the middle, combining with whatever weight you got in the middle weight, hence the reason for the mid rpm change and top rpm change i noticed. the heel on the HH's doesn't work as nice or easily IMO as the HC's. when using HH's, i always run the heel empty. just try it once w/no heel weight, and see if you notice what i'm trying to say. what rpm is your srx ported for too? mine loves 8700. it starts screaming at 8600 and then starts falling off at 8800. 8700 is just perfect. mine is no good at 8500 and for sure nothing under....what a puuch at 8300-8400.
cory, if you find that you need a new helix, cause your finish is too steep or something, i have a maxx perf 52/40 that i would sell.

Mopar my rpm's shoot up to 7800 them climb to 8000. The sleds pulls real hard. I just need to lighten up the tip a bit I think?

take the 2.1g outta the heel and try it like that. i just want you to see the rpm difference. the 2.1g in the heel, is probably the 3/4" long set screw? what rpm is your sled ported for? do you need to run the 8500 like stock?

Ported for 8500. The allen I had in the heel was not the 3/4 (3.3) one. It was one size down 2.1

cory, if you still feel set on running heel weight, then try running approx 2g in middle and tip. try that.
