is there any way to jack the rear of the proaction up so it has more travel like the newer machines

No. It's an improvement on the existing one. My skid is long traveled with the Ohlins shocks and it is deffinantly better than the plain jane NO-ACTION skid. Better yet you can buy a used rear skid from a different manufacturer. Polaris edge skids work well with the 2-Stroke Yammies.

well on there web site they dont list a long travel for a 03 viper

My bad dude, I thought we were talking about an SRX. LoL. Well the next thing I would suggest is a different skid all together. Like I said, polaris edge is a good one. ski-doo sc10III is another good one. Alot of people just have their shocks revalved & rebuilt too, but I'm not sure if that's an option with the Viper rear shocks, something tells me no. Maybe someone more framiliar with the Vipers will chime in...

thanks i dont want to sacifice the great handling it just to rough in the bumps

you need at least a good 2" sit in on your suspension to get the full benefit of it when you are seated on the it. like mentioned above, play with the adjustments a little more.

Exactly...there are so many guys who don't setup their suspension. That is the first thing to do on a motocross bike.
Your Viper already has close to 12 inches of travel does it not? It's all setup man.

polaris edge skids are way cheaper then upgrading your exsisting one , i was going to add olines too mine but for the cost of two used shocks i can find a whole suspension

In the forum search type in:
BETHEVIPER suspension set up

Its a sticky in the tech FAQ section

Follow the instructions letter for letter step by step...no short cuts .
I'll bet you will be amazed with your suspensions performance after doing this, I know it made a huge improvement to one on my sleds.
