synchronizing carbs

i dont know if the 700srx has the ports to plug that gauge in but if it does then you could use it or just measure the slides that would be close enough, you can look it up in tech section on here

can't synch like a bike carb. what you are talking about is for vacuum slide carbs. on top of srx carbs there is an adjuster to make the slides all even, you need to reach in & feel that they are all open the same. the adjuster in under the metal cover on top of carb, one is non-adjustable, set other 2 to match that one.

Easy way to sync carbs is with a drill bit .. carb rack removed.. use a 1/4 ( or similar size) and turn up the idle knob until the bit slides under the slide in the master carb... adjust slaves until the same thing happens to each.. verify by opening throttle cam to check all slides reach top of bore at same time, return to idle.. recheck... remember to back idle knob off and then re ajust with sled running..hope this helps

I have been wondering about this myself and have never read anything on it...thanks for the info!!!!!!!!

i dont want to argue, but if you have the ports you can use the same gauge to sync any rack of carbs, but you may have to do it differently, when you sync you are syncing idle position (rest point)on all carbs so there the same on slide, butterfly ect. wot is done by cable slack adj. on mutiple cable carbs, i use the gauge for bikes, outboards, sleds, if they have the ports on the intake side. the drill gage will work on all to, but the gauge is more accurite

I do it the same way wolf described, use drill bits, but you need a service manual for the info, most times they will be very close so adjustment is not needed.

I believe the thread was about a SRX. Carbs are racked.. Whether it's WOT or idle..it's off the same cable .you are talking about round slide carbs with spaghetti cables no1chevyboy. I do have my carbs( Rack Flats /XV750) tapped so I can use vacuum gauges, but I think that would be a bit more trouble than most wanna go thru, I just offered a quick accurate way..

i was just answering his question about the gauge, and when you sync what you are doing, and yes my example was round slides, just try to give info, either way i dont think it would be easy for the average person if they dont understand
