I've got a couple of rides in on my SX700R since the new 1" track and 144 studs. I've noticed that on a hard packed groomed trail, it doesn't really want to turn. It just keeps going straight for a second. What should me first adjustment be? Limit straps, front springs? It's OK on slower loose trails.
SXR's don't like to have studs outside the rails and still turn well.
I would look at how you are transfering weight now and get it to transfer a little more if you say it is ok in looser snow.

My studs are up the middle, none outside. Wouldn't transferring more weight take pressure off the skis and onto the track?

Yeah, you really want to suck up the limiter straps. It puts more pressure on the rear of the skid and the ski tips. You should also contact bergstroms skags to get the spacers for your skiis. (they are free) They go under your rubber bumber on the ski saddle and change the ski angle from front to back and really help with turning and ski darting.

Thanks, I already have the spacers. Will try tightening up on the straps.
