Was wondering what the differences between a 98's cylinder, piston, and head were compared to an 01's? I need an 01 top end but can only find a matching set off a 98. Does anyone know if they could be used on an 01? Thanks in advance.

different port specs and heads, pistons have different part # but it's been said here recently that the only difference is a coating on the newer pistons

like stagg said the porting and heads are a little different ,the piston p/n is different but there is no measurable difference. the 98 top end will work no problem but you will be about 5 h.p less than the 01 top end.
