I have been accumulating various gears and have been told that a HYVO chain will work with any gears. I am finding this to NOT be the case as I wrap the chain around each gear to see the tooth pitch.

Somebody know somethig I don't?

And as I continue to research this forum, I am finding that the real difference is the width, not the pitch of the teeth. I guess you can't believe everything you read.

:o|

Gonna have some stuff for sale soon I thinks.

hyvo gears and standard chains dont mix ,vise versa... it might seem like it does , but they will cause you or your customer some greef . they ratchet , they grind , they do everything but work properly ..

Won't work

I'm finding this out. I'm glad I double checked before putting the combo in my sled. I like riding more than ratcheting. If I wanted to work on my sled, I'd a bought an arctic crap.

This forum is awesome.

I couldnt've said this better myself !! My cousin is stoked cause he got a "great deal" on a shitty kitty.... I'm thinking to myself "If he goes riding with me I'd better slide some extra tools in my pouch and expect to be stranded" !! Good thing I take a strap along to get him to the nearest crossroad for trailer access !
