making trailer slush guard??

Has anyone ever made a slush guard for thier trailer? I made the mistake of buying a regular 2 place trailer without the slush guard...big mistake! I'm sick of the snowmobile covers being full of slush, salt, sand, ice... What did you make it out of? Any plans and pics would be nice.
 
Make friends with a local sign company or two. I work for a sign company and from time to time well replace a customers lexan (polycarbonate) sign face and just toss the old one away, bigger companies replace more faces then we do. Might get lucky to get a free piece of polycarb big enough to make a slush guard. I would rather give a big piece of lexan away then to have to cut it up to fit our dumpster.

i will have to look into that, seem like a pretty good idea.
 
i whipped this on up in about an hour at work with some aluminum we had layin around.

Yes I would like this... this was the route I was originally thinking. Pics would be great.
 
I made one out of plywood on my old 2 place trailer. It worked well, and cost about nothing.

Making one from aluminum would be a better choice as theat would weigh less.
 
I saw a guy with a two place open trailer with calf Kennels on the trailer. These can be bought at TSC, fairly cheap. He had two, they are about 4' wide and mayber 5' tall, it looked like he cut the oper end larger and covered half of the sled. I am not sure how he fastened them down to the trailer, probably screws. It sure looked like it would keep the snow and slush off. Al
 
Back when I was about 20 years old, we ran an open trailer also. Didn't have a slush gaurd so we used the 77 exciter sideways in the front, this kept the slush and salt off of the 89 Phazer and Exciter. lol Sometimes you could not even tell it was a snowmobile under all of the crap. Al
 
We parked next to a guy this past weekend who made a complete enclosure out of plywood. It looked great. The rear was a ramp door and the top was split down the middle with each side opening like those Bilco doors do on peoples basements. It allowed him to keep the whole thing low, just over the tops of the sleds and then he could walk through once the top was opened up. Really a nice job. Right next to him was a guy with his kids, all 3 riding late '60's skidoos. I gotta give him credit too. They all ran great and I was impressed by some of the steep hills they climbed. I don't know how their backs felt at the end of the day though.
