ive had my 00 srx out on the lake the last two days and the highest top speed i see is 90mph on gps. my track spins until i let off and then it hooks up, my engagement is 5000 and top rpms are 8500. im running heavy hitters 50 g base with 3.3 in heel empty mid and 8.5 in the tip. heavy hitter black 150/300 primary spring. yamaha green secondary spring with a mega 56/40 helix wrapped to 70. the sled is very traction limited but i should see more than 90mph right? any suggestions? we were running right about 1200 or more ft.

Should be more than 90 for sure! What gears? Snow condition has lots to do with it, but even when I'm on the lake and there are crappy conditions i hit atleast 100-105 MPH. My srx has been gunned and GPS at 121-123MPH on the lake in awesome conditions with it setup right.

running stock gearing 23/38. snow is pretty hard. im unstudded so could i be spinning the track at 90? i just got my studs today so ill have to put them in maybe thats the problem? should also mention its lake ported and mega heads as well.

I'm lake ported and have modified heads. My case is also ported. Something isn't right. Maybe spinning because hat's way to low of a MPH for that sled, even stock! Setup for 2000' ice my sled has been gunned at 127.9MPH.

doesnt know nothing about hh but a srx stock should hit 100mph ;)!

i would think that if my rpms are right then it should top out higher. so would it be a helix issue or wrap issue?

I'm not to much or a heel clicker guy either, but your RPM's sound right on. How's your belt? old/worn? Clutch temps? Track tention?

my belt is freshly broken in and my clutch temps, the primary sheave closest to the engine it the hottest and the others are barley warm but i can hold my hand to them and not be burned.

hmmm. Try to PM bluemonster1 I'm pretty sure he had some crazy crap go on with his HC setup. He couldn't hit 100 MPH either.

he doesn't have heelclickers they are heavy hitters and are a little different in design from each other

the guy i got the sled from said to make a line on the primary to see if its shifting out all the way. what if its not shifting out completly?

motor doesnt make power or maybe over gear if its not stock

ok so if i find out that its not shifting out what would fix it? if it is shifting out what would be the next thing to look at?

if you are sure to have the stock gear it will probably shift out .....if not well ask moparules he play with hh

It's been awhile

Primary spring coil bind, secondary too tight(probably not if it's cool), weights hanging up or too light for spring. Are the clutch clean? How are the bushings?

Anyone else? I'm quite rusty with this stuff, been playing with cars for too long.

Oh crap, sorry I thought you had HC. Either way I have never used them. Take a sharpie and makea line on the inside of the primary sheave. Then go for a WFO run and report back how high it gos up.

im going to put a line on the clutch tonight and see how far up it goes. how long of a distance will it take?

Here is a shot in the dark.how is your ski alingment?
On my first run on the pond this year 2 inches of powder on ice I was hitting 115 on dream meter before running out of room.
now pond is covered with hard pack and cant hit 100 in same distance.
A friend said to check ski alingment. Ifound I have way to much toe out. I think this is causing a ton of drag.I have not had a chance to fix and try out yet but its a thought.
