97 Vmax clutching help needed.

Sled- 97 Vmax 600 twin.
Mods: 1.25 Kimpex Aggressor track non-studded
Thin Headgasket mod
PSI twin pipes
Jetted per PSI
The clutches are both stock. What do I clutch it at for most gain all around? I ride with alot of srx's. I would definitely like to see more top end.

I think you are going to have trouble with a srx, and you have modiied just about everything. (I hope you updated those pistons, because most fail about 3,500 miles)
The clutch set up -- If your primary is dialed in,,, change your helix. the lower the second number (dual angle) the more it will roll out on top.

I don't want to jump off the original subject, but I also have a 97 Vmax 600 with approx 5000 mi on it, what piston update are you refering to? All stock and no problems so far. I used to have a 95 Vmax with Twin GYT pipes that had a piston burn down at approx 3500 miles.

Mike,

If you are the original owner of your 600, and have not updated go buy a lotto ticket. The 600's (97' only) were breaking the piston skirts at 3 or 4,000 miles. It was a poor design, and they broke right below the wrist pin.

The later models were problem free.

If you are certain yours has not been apart then change them now! (and add the low gasket for more cheap power.
