Plug type for a 2000 SRX

I am looking at a Dennis Kirk catalog in the specifications section in the back. It lists plugs for a SRX 700 from 2000 to 2002 as the BR9ES, while the previous years are listed as BR10ECS. Is this correct? I thought the 2000s and up used the much more expensive BR10ECS.
 
NO......all SRXs should use BR9ECS,,back in 98-99 stock was BR10ECS but thats too cool of a plug,fouls to easy.
 
I usually carry the 9es as spares incase but use 9ecs on the sled... as they are cheaper and if they break while riding not as expensive as carrying the 9ecs around...
 
The ECS's have a shorter ground strap thats made outa a different harder material, that supposedly will withstand higher heat and resist melting and are better for detonation protection when doing a long WOT pull,Also the ECS's have a chamfered inner that also is supposed to perform better.

lots of guys run the ES's with no problems,not me i stick with the ECS's,actually i run them in ALL my sleds,just for that added protection.
 
I like them,and on a well tuned engine they'll last many many seasons,i remove the ecs and put in the standard es when i fogg as not to foul the good pricy plugs then put the ecs back in when out for the winter season.
 
ah yea my mech just told me to use the good plugs and keep a cheap pair with me incase... i have yet to have a sled last me a season lol...though this is my 2nd sled and 2nd season of sledding....ive ever owned any other sled exept a srx...and to my defence the 00 srx was very very badly "worked on" by the previous owner... so when fogging season comes... i got some reaserching to do... and then summer comepletely revamping... going to be interesting

and to think.. it was a polairs edge 600 that got me hooked 3 years ago and ended up crossing a srx 700 with no knowledge of what it was at first...lol... but just doesnt compare to my buddies sleds..

I thought that the "C" was for copper core which helped the electrode run cooler while still having the hotter insulating material to keep the carbon from building up.

This is my understanding which is from memory and probably originally came from this forum.

I guess the reason why and what doesn't matter as long as you get the right one and run without detonation while not fouling out.
