i was reading you can add shims to the drive to increase the engagement can you do this and how to do this ???
not sure where you mean to put shims??? looked at my manual and do not see spring cup is this dirrectly under the cover???ottawaair said:remove the 6 bolts that hold the primary spring on & put the shims in the spring cup, put the cover back on. be careful & loosen the bolts evenly or the spring pressure will want to kink the cover on the shaft. can use up to 3 shims.

under the spring where it sits on spider? and shims are what size and where do you get themsgauthier said:liked mentioned above, remove the 6 bots holding the cover, remove cover and spring, place your 1-2 shims in the bottom then replace your spring and cover. make sure you line up the X in both the cover and the sliding sheave. you should see an X on the back side of the cover after you remove it. i always use a marker and mark the top so that it is easier to put back in. it's tuff to see the X in the spider when the clutch is still mounted on the sled.
its a 00 sxr600 im sure its stock so im assuming driven is a red spring drive is ygy no marks on it to I.D and the wieghts are 8DG-17605=00 and im running 3800-8200 rpmsneedaSRX said:you might wanna list what you have in your sled now so the clutch experts can help you, like primary spring, weights, and secondary and also for what sled you have. You can also get your engagement up by putting a different spring in
