I just purchased Vmax 600er very low miles for my wife but it seems to over rev 9k and up is this normal any help on this subject would be great
Thanks
Thanks
You're over by 500rpm. Stock is 8500 rpm. Check the belt. It might be worn out causing your over rev. If you click on the "TY Tech" tab then "Snowmobile Tech" then "Stock Yamaha Specs". It will give you all the spec's you need.

Post some specs of the sled. Helix, springs and any other mods if it has. This will help us steer you in the right direction

Factory weights are .8dg 10.3al & 13.9 do i change outer one or inner Primary Spring y-g-y
Well I dealt with that problem with my 03 600 venture.. I have got about 4.7g in the tip right now, put softer spring in primary (Was running to hot for my liking) but that didn't change a damn thing.. Those 8DG weights just do not respond at all by adding to tip.. So I went to the secondary and put in a 9760 bender helix (49/45) with a green spring at 70,, max rpms are now spot on along with a cruising speed of 5-600 rpm less than before... Much more responsive with a higher top speed and much better fuel economy....Still have all that weight in the tip also... I have to think of the spring I put in the primary and I'll edit this post then.. I'll take a look at it this weekend.... Oh ya clutches run alot cooler also.... Bottom line IMO that engine can pull a steeper helix..
Where did you get your Bender 9760 Helix and spring?
