Thinking about parting out a 98 vmax sx 600. I was going to sell the sled, until yesterday my front shock in the skid demounted. The bolt holding the bottom of the shock broke off, the shock was dangling all the way home, bout 10 miles. The shock wore the track down the middle in a rythmatic pattern. You can see some white threads.
I don't want to invest $500 in a track when I would sell it for $1500. The seat is ripped in the corners, from boots, other than that its got slp skis, excelent engine w/ 3200 miles...
Maybe throw a new bolt in and sell it with a bum track?
Any expereinces? Tips...
thanks TY

There are used tracks that'll go 3-4 seasons depending on your riding style all over craigslist.... I'd replace the shock & track and let'er rip again.
for what you will get out of the machine as is, buy a used track for $100 and replace a shock and run it. Or at that time sell it, but as is you might have a tough time selling it. Al

Hell dont give up the ship so soon, find a good used track and swap it out, she'll be good for another 3,000.
