Any easy way to pull the cylinder off 78 SRX 440?

Looks like the studs are sticking in the cylinder through holes. Anybody have any tricks to pulling the cylinder off without breaking the ears at the bottom like I did with the 1st cyl? Special Puller?

I usually just give a light tap all around with a rubber mallet to loosen it then lift it right off.

rubber mallet like he said.i just did a 600 and it was stubborn.beat the helll out of it and it came loose finally.

I believe he is talknig about the ears on the bottom of the cylinders that slide in the crank case. I could be wrong though.

PUT A SHOT OF WD-40 DOWN THE HOLES WHERE ITS HANGING UP AND LIKE THESE GUYS POSTED , TAP IT WITH A RUBBER MALLET. 3:16 (yammie tony)

jig-a-loo and rubber mallet.

Sometime light twisting with a piece of wood cut to barely fit down the cylinder (need to drop the piston to the bottom of the stroke) helps.

2 hours of tapping up and down with lots of Pb Blaster, one more to go. Sled sat for a long time outside, everything is seized up. You are correct with the ears I was speaking about, the part that slides into the crank case.

Yep sometimes pb blaster needs to sit for a bit. I've also had good luck with liquid wrench.
