i have an 02 srx700 clutched and other little bolt ons? my question is what kind of track should i be replacing my stock one with i want to upgrade but not to extreme... i heard the ripsaw 1.25 would be good but what are your suggestions? any advice would be helpful thanks... i have stock gearing in it and intend to hopefully keep it the way it is and just want something with a little more bite..thanks
any 1.25 track will work out great but you might have to gear down a little, either that or you can go with a stock track and put picks on. Can you list the mods that you have on your sled, it will get you a better answer such as how your clutches are setup, motor mods etc.

if you are a rough rider and drive in a lot of marginal snow, the 1.25 ripsaw won`t last long.Had a new one on my 600,not happy how many lugs have busted off already.Go with a Predator 1 inch track..6 pitch. It is a good speed track and add some studs to it.I am happy with my Predator.

if you plan on studding don't go bigger than 1". 1.25 track with studs will need 8 tooth drivers to keep away from heat exchanger.

If you want studs you will not be able to run anything more than a 1" track. Stock track is a 0.981" or something like that. I put a Camoplast Hacksaw 1" in my viper with 144 studs(Just put studs in this year). It hooked up really well on crusty snow without studs.. I've been happy with it. Before that I had a Kimpex ultimate traxion. I think the Kimpex track was better in deeper snow, but I don't think it would hook up as well on a nice packed trail.
The Ripsaw is a nice track and probably the closest thing to stock but it is a 1.25" and you will not be able to run studs. The Energy has every 3rd window closed which isn't good for an SRX in low snow conditions(hard on sliders).
My dad has an 02 SRX and he is running the Durasport .725". Had the same track on my SX and I thought it worked okay. Its not aggresive but it gets the Job done.

I thought that closed windows saved weight and held some snow for better lube? I just put on a 1.25" Ripsaw and some of the small lugs hit the front heat exchanger guard. I trimmed them down a bit and think it will work good for me, I will know better after this weekend when my wife gives it a good ride.

have a 1 in hacksaw on 99 srx and i studid it and it works great

Monday i put on a 1.25" ripsaw on my viper. It was more than I expected. All it did before was spin, now I'm hooked up..
The ripsaw is great but you will lose lugs.
After how many miles does the rip saw start losing lugs
Get a 1" Carve (think its the new name for the Predator). Doesn't fall apart like a Rip Saw, great out of the hole and off trail too. I put 144 in the middle and have never been happier. No lugs missing even after may drag races.

Into it's 3rd winter and my 1.25" Ripsaw is not missing a single lug! Mine is every 3rd window open and still running the same slides I put on when I changed the track....
Liked it so much, I put one on the sx last year and still looks brand new!

Same here on the ripsaw....I have 2500 to 3000 miles on mine and I don't have 1 missing lug. I ride in all sorts of conditions. But I watch my track spin of obstacles. It hooks up pretty good without studs!!!!
Here is what I've read and seen.

hmmm, Id never heard of anything until this forum, with regards to ripsaws.... fingers crossed it remains awesome!! Cuz I wouldn't trade it for any other non-stud setup

Same here!
If your canning it on stumps, jagged ice, bare tar or rocks your going to tear a 1.25 lug. 33+ years riding and have seen to many riders blame the gear for thier error or abuse...lol Just need to use common sense.
