Self-Cleaning Power Valves

Can anyone explain why Yamaha markets the Viper as having Self-Cleaning Power Valves? A lot of folks are spending a lot of time cleaning them.
 
I believe there is a hole on the bottom of the powervalve assembly that releases extra unburned fuel right after startup. That might be the "self-cleaning" feature. It helps, but doesn't solve the problem.
 
staggs hit it....


all self cleaning is is every time you start
your sled the servo cycles the valves open and
closed to keep any carbon on the valve wore off..

you still need to pull them out and clean thoroughly by hand..
