SLP Hifax wear pad?

I just ordered a kit for a 136 track you get 40 and looks pretty easy to install, it's $55 bucks tax included. He said that for the longer 136 track on my SRX it will make a big difference in the rolling resistance and could see and extra 3-4mph on top end. Of course i will do a before and after testing and report back. We just need more snow!!!!

Not to seem stupid but where do you put these or did i just miss that. I tend to be a skim reader. Would be interested in these on my 04 viper with the closed windows.
 
So if i get this right the bolt end would be sticking through the track twoards the snow? Not sure i like that if its the case? Then the cap would act like a track clip?
 
I bought a set of the SLP wear pads for the track on my RX-1. I was convinced of the benefit of using them but never installed them since I changed the stock track to a 1.25" predator. I have a brand new set if someone is interested in them.
 
I just got my wear pads.installing them tonight.The thread that sticks out will act as another lug and dig into the snow,but are not as long as the 1" track lugs.I'll report back on these when the snow flies again..hopefully this weekend.
 
ya I had these on my track ,and they do work....That is till they wear out which wont take long....they lasted about 2 seasons ,then they started peelin off and wreaking havoc on my slides and track and idler wheels.....but hey, they might be alright for you!!............good luck!
 
what would you torque the nuts at,any one know. being a 1/4" thread and 20 thread per inch..would something like 52 in/lbs do.Started the first ones at 120..but then dropped to 74 in/lbs.....
 
The instructions say to not go to tight as to concave the washer. Let me know how long it take to install Blue. I been busy this week and i want to ride this weekend so i will get mine installed one night next week. It will take me a little longer because i have 40 to install on my 136 RipSaw. Also for my 1.25" track the stud won't stick out at all.
 
I just torqued it to about 96 inch pounds,seemed fine.You tighten the nut while holding the inside plate with vise grips.You will feel the nut come to the end and just torque it enough after that..time wise around a couple hours or so.It says to tighten but not cave in washer.The first ones I was really tightening them up,washer was not caving in..if I kept on tightening I was afraid of striping the threads..so 8 ft/lbs or 96 in/lbs seemed fine. The thread sticking out don't bother me,they won't even come close to touching the tunnel protectors.Hope they help a little.. weren't that expensive anyways.
