Hi guys, I have a 98 srx 600 with only 800 miles. Bought it last year, I have read that the 98's have a defective crank. Was there a recall or fix that would have been done on the sled? I can't get a hold of the previous owner.
The sled is completely stock, and I have been thinking of upgrading the track but don't want to jeapordize any components in the engine if they are inherintly weak? Would a new track put more pressure on the crank?
Thanks for the help.

TAKE THE CHASSIS NUMBER THATS ON SIDE OF YOUR SLED TO A YAMAHA DEALER. THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL YA IF THIS WAS DONE THROUGH THE CRANKSHAFT UPDATE PROGRAM. NOW CHANGEING TRACKS WON,T HURT, BUT STUDS MIGHT. 3:16 (yammie tony)
