I have a chance to get a 136" Kit with rear cooler, and 136" Camoplast 1.25" track. I was wondering if it is worth going to a 136" and any suggestions like changing gears or clutching while doing so.
I switched my 02 to a 136 over the summer and have already put about 750 miles on it this winter. It rides and handles much better (I left the gearing stock) and haven't noticed anything negative.

Do you have a studded track & how big of lugs on your track? I am thinking about trying to build my own high rise seat over the summer as well. My uncle owns an upholstery shop & said he can help me.
if you are studding with an 1-1/4" lug track, you will need to go to 8 tooth drivers. with 8 tooth you will not need to gear down on a 02 viper. without studs the track fits fine with the stock 9 tooth drivers.
Do it! Its the best thing I did to mine! I wouldnt even run studs, go with 8T drivers and a 1.5" track and it will hook up just fine!

I went 136" on my Viper, I love it... 1.25" track, un-studded, hooks great in the powder, still have to tweak it for the hard pack...

Well I made a trade deal with Viperking and he is going to help me install it hopefully sometime soon when he has time
I am fairly new at sled wrenching but not afraid to try, what are you guys talking about when you say 8 & 9 tooth drives? Everything else on my sled is stock mechanically, also, does anyone know an easy way to go about unhooking the parking brake and re hooking it back up when making the switch? Thanks!

>The brake has springs on it. If you look close you will see that the pressure can be released on both. Then just unthread bolt and remove. Repeat steps to install. >The bigger around the drive, the more teeth they have. Larger lugged tracks will not fit unless you reduce the drive size.

A little late, but - you can run a 1.5 track without 8 tooth drivers.Coles_55 said:Do it! Its the best thing I did to mine! I wouldnt even run studs, go with 8T drivers and a 1.5" track and it will hook up just fine!

Anyone have any 8 tooth drivers?
So here is where I stand as of now.... I am going with the 136" kit provided by Viperking and he is helping me install it. The track is an 1.25" Camoplast and I was debating on weather or not to put studs in it, I have been told that if I were to do studs I will have to change the drivers down to an 8 tooth. Does anyone have any 8 tooth drivers for sale or where can I find some and how much $$ do they cost? I am hoping to get the tunnel ext. riveted no this weekend as well as make my 3" seat wedge and 2" bar risers installed. I plan on taking some photos of it and doing a working log if possible. Thanks!

I installed a 136" 1.25 camoplast on my 16 year old son's 2002 Viper this last fall. We did not install studs due to the heat exchanger clearance issue. If I was to do this again I would rethink and install a 1" camoplast track with studs. The abilitly to stop very quickly in my opinion overrides any of the forward traction offered by the extra lug depth. He really likes the long track kit. I really like the looks of it. Now all he needs is a BOSS seat. Next year I guess. Al
There is a set of 8" extroverts on the driveshaft for sale on ebay under mountain max for 150.00 that would work, but it looks like it would take a while for you to get them cause the seller is from Canada. Thats not a bad price though. I think I might have heard that mountain max's came with 8 inch drivers, don't quote me on that. But check with a couple of the guys on site here that are parting them out and you could ask them if they are. Those wouldn't be extroverts, just normal drivers.Tysonmatc2 said:So here is where I stand as of now.... I am going with the 136" kit provided by Viperking and he is helping me install it. I looked at Viperkings mountain set up he has tonight and it appears to be that he is running a 136" extension kit, with stock 9T drivers, and no drop down skid plates and he is clearing a 2" paddle track with about 1/4" to spare before hitting the heat exchanger..... So, I don't see why an 1.25" Track with 1.4 studs wouldn't work just fine. Anyone have a setup like that?
I ran 9 tooth with the stock track with 1.175 (?) studs and exchanger protectors. When 136'n my Viper I saw claw marks on the exchanger from the studs. You can try using 1.4 studs and please post back on how that works out for you.

you can run up to a 2" track with the heat exchanger protectors removed. 1.25 with studs and protectors wont clear unless you notch the track. STUDS ARE OVERRATED unless you like to run ICE or DIRT

I ended up buying a set of 8T drivers, they are not the anti ratchets but now I am working on buying a set of anti ratchets that are already on the shaft. Now I am hoping I can go with the 1.25 track with 1.4 studs, around where I ride it is nice to have at least some studs down the center for better stopping abilities and climbing some steep dug road hills that get iced over pretty good.
