Stock gearing is best for 1000 feet huh.

IMO:

As a generalization...

For 660' on snow: I would run somewhere between 1.80 : 1 to 1.90 : 1

For 1000 feet on snow: you don't want to be geared too low. Stock works good but with our Improved stock 700SX I had my best luck with 22/38 = 1.73:1
I found 22/38 allowed a good hole shot and gave real hard acceleration from 500' on without ever running out of gear.

Of course, all the above is also dependent on track conditions...heavy wet snow and warm temps, usually requires lower gearing...good ,solid. cold, hard pack can handle higher gearing.

Every day, track, and snow conditions have to be taken into consideration and adjusted for with jetting, suspension setup, gearing, and clutching to remain that "moving target" you need to be to keep winning!

Worked for me!
