I have a 2001 srx with a cold air kit, shelf is still in airbox.. Stock jetting is
150, 148.8, 148.8 with 40 Pilots close to sealevel
was wondering if it would help to jet a little rich plan on setting it up for lake race..trail sled, stock motor. What's the cold air kit call for ??? and what would be an ideal jetting ?? thanks

bender calls for upping the mains 1 size and leaving the rest alone. that's what my instructions say.

is the top lid of the airbox, drilled out or anything?

cold air kits work best when you run the carb vent lines into the air box & let them hang near front of the carbs.

I agree... but don't forget to jet up if you do this.
As bufalobob has recommended in previous posts on this topic:
Start with your mains at 157.5 with cold air kit + vents in the airbox
Works for me!

157.5 accross for bender trail port ( stock comp. ) w/ gutted air box & cold air. stock motor 152.5 accross w/ cold air. both run vent lines to air box.

For jetting just put in 152.5
and 40,40,41.8(clutch side) Needle 3rd clip with 2 washers under and fuel screw out 2 turns
This is a bone stock srx...no porting might send the heads out for alittle more comression....just cold air kit, Shelf still in airbox, with top of lid cut for cold air kit..
What's the vents in the airbox..There are holes at the bottom of the airbox now thought that was stock...and what your saying is run your carb vents to the bottom of the airbox???
anyone have a link to this mod??

152.5 all, stock pilots, stock needle position, fuel screw stock. don't cut the heads. w/ todays crappy fuel your just asking for trouble. reroute the vent lines to the inside of the air box from the top & just let them hang inside. the vent tubes in the air box evens out the fuel flow & your motor will run more consistant. carbs are not very smart & they get confused by the difference in atmospheric pressure between outside the air box & inside.
