I had a burndown on mag cylinder. Cleaned carbs, fresh fuel, new cylinder, rings piston, adjusted fuel screws to 1 7/8. I sprayed starting fluid as best I could by the crank seals....no change in idle.

If my plugs look ok....engine sounds good and piston wash (from what I can see through spark plug hole) is ok.....I should be good right?

I heard so many things about pre-mixing the tank....but I am more behind the fact that adding oil leans the fuel which equals another burndown....so it's straight 93 octane for me!

I finally get to ride the sled tomorrow on real trails.....it's my first SRX....kind of nervous.....wish me luck!

yes need to know why it burned down ??? cause if it was crank seal or intake leak ....that will happen again if you didnt find the cause of the problem .......check crank seals and intake boots .....spray with starting fliud around crank seals and intake boots see if idle changes if so there is your cause of burn down

I did the starting fluid test and no idle change. After the burndown, I realized that the fuel was pre-mixed along with the injection (lean condition), I had some bad gas, and had not cleaned the carbs. When I cleaned them, the mag pilot was pretty clogged.

I ran it all day today and it ran 100% No bog, good idle, great throttle response, and an all around awesome ride. It's my first SRX and I am totally hooked!

yep great sleds, jjust keep watching plug color and wash,be fat if anythig else,no need to run premix unless oil pump is not primed??

One more check to make.
Blow out the vent line on the oil tank.
it snakes it's way thru the handle bars.
It can get moisture in and FREEZE!
Been there, Done that!
3 motors later.

Good Luck with the SRX.

A plugged pilot will burn a cyl for sure, I have one down now because of it. If you checked the crank seals, carb boots and the oil injection is working, then see how much smoke you get out the exhaust at idle. Then I would be checking the plugs VERY frequently.

Check the screen under the inlet brass. Not many people now it's there. It can restrict/freeze and cause an un explainable burn. I think I saw it mentioned on this site before but not sure
