I just pulled my carbs and started cleaning. I noticed some white jelly-like stuff inside the main jet. Is this from the ethanol or bad fuel?

Better check the fuel screens under the fuel inlet seats...could be plugged up with that jelly crud.

thank the crapinal gods for the jelly from hell, see it all the time, and some times its so clear that you can look through a jet and not see it, it will look clear but its not, do not leave fuel in anything for more than a week or two, best not at all, use it or empty it!!!!!!!! if you clean carbs spray cleaner through jets and passeges and make sure there clear, all jets and passeges will have a solid steam if there clear, if they fan there still dirty, i have had techs show me spotless carbs that were still pluged with the jelly/glue, and have seen fuel filters that look clean but plugged with the same, some you could not get the jelly/glue out had to use sonic cleaner a couple of times! if its in carbs its in fuel system clean everything!

I aggree no more stabil for me either. Fog the motor and run the carbs dry. Suck all the gas out of the tank and put it in your car and put fresh gas in when you are ready to ride. 2 strokes can ill afford to have a fuel problem, while the 4 strokes are much more forgiving.

one thing ya gotta remember with ethanol is the it's distilled corn syrup. Organic.. that's why the bacteria growth ( jelly).. check out the reveiws on Startron enzyme treatment..works for me and the 150+ boats and sleds I store. I agree with previus post about Stabil... nice in the past but a waste of $ now..

So you're saying I need to clean all fuel lines etc?
When I siphon the fuel out of the tank will fresh gas dilute the leftover sludge enough to not cause problems?

I am running into the same problem. I plan to remove the gas tank and clean it out along with all of the fuel lines. Not to mention soak and clean the carbs again.

Love this site - Derek

yes clean everything or replace, fuel lines, fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel tank, carbs, fresh fuel will not fix this problem without cleaning everything and i have found that alot of carb cleaners dont touch this stuff just move it around, not break it down
