I just pulled my carbs and started cleaning. I noticed some white jelly-like stuff inside the main jet. Is this from the ethanol or bad fuel?

no1chevyboy said:thank the crapinal gods for the jelly from hell, see it all the time, and some times its so clear that you can look through a jet and not see it, it will look clear but its not, do not leave fuel in anything for more than a week or two, best not at all, use it or empty it!!!!!!!! if you clean carbs spray cleaner through jets and passeges and make sure there clear, all jets and passeges will have a solid steam if there clear, if they fan there still dirty, i have had techs show me spotless carbs that were still pluged with the jelly/glue, and have seen fuel filters that look clean but plugged with the same, some you could not get the jelly/glue out had to use sonic cleaner a couple of times! if its in carbs its in fuel system clean everything!
no1chevyboy said:yes clean everything or replace, fuel lines,fuel filter,fuel pump,fuel tank,carbs, fresh fuel will not fix this problem without cleaning everything and i have found that alot of carb cleaners dont touch this stuff just move it around, not break it down
