high engagement , why ?

Well, here are some pictures after cleaning, I assembled, torqued to spec & installed according to manual.

A Huge THANK YOU to all who wrote and gave advise, I have been a member of this site for 3 years and it is by far the best in cyberspace .

End result , clutch engages at 3800 rpms, everything is perfect !! It looks as though, all it needed was a cleaning.

that belt dust gets in everywhere starts caking in and hardening building up and yes causes issues.

nice clean job ;)!

Ok, So i have a very similar problem to this. I bought my sled last year and the owner had an ultimax belt for it so i just drove with it. Since being on the site i bought a yammi belt and installed today. Sled won't engage until arouns the same RPMs as listed 5-6000 rode it around for 50 km's to see if it just needed to be broken in so to speak. No go still won't engage until high rpms. Threw the old belt back on and it engages just under 4g's. Any ideas ?

Thanks,
Jake

My guess is that the guy that put on the ultimax belt set his clutch up for it because it wasn't working with the proper OEM Yamaha belt clutch setup.
