Mountain machine freedom axle kit w/WPS fabcraft style composite wheels. Worked for years now.
Not without going out and taking one

All I did was cut new spacers in the inside for the axle and moved the original wheels inside. You have the shaft sticking out on the sides.

I am just asking why? Why would you not run the outside wheels? I see alot of sleds with this option, I just want to know why?

Why does not having outside wheels make sidehilling easier? Weight?? These wheels are not very heavy at all. I carry more weight ,pop and water in the storage area. I have added the 4th wheel kit to all sleds, even the old Phazer. Al

I don't know exactly why its apparently easier to sidehill or the weight saving, got that from the Cat shop. Nearly all sleds have 3 rear wheels and to take the 2 outsides off you still need to add one between the rails so you end up with one wheel plus shorter shaft and spacers for weight saving only. Land on a rear corner off a jump and see what happens. Another topic does anyone really feel the difference using 8" rear wheels, I can't see it being a noticable gain in performance.

I run the 8 inch wheels to take up some track slack with an off-set axle. 144 skid and 151 track meant I only had to setback just over an inch. Keeps the front from steering heavy.
