Yawn
It looks like a really nice sled....but definately in the wrong chasis for me personally. I'll be interested in the true details and the price tag. Nice to hear they addressed the handwarmers.....just put my Yamaheater on the Nytro last night. Thanks for the report Mr. Sled.

omg-11 (oh my god, its going to cost a lot more than $11,000)!!
thanks for the review, tom. anybody that doesn't think a big 4 stroke needs power steering has never ridden a 4 wheeler with power steering that has big mud tires on it. its effortless and a no brainer, or maybe i'm just getting weaker.

I laughed at the OMG thing too, but 11k isn't a big deal anymore for sleds
I am assuming these demos will be at cruiserfest this year. If so I will try one.
Looks like I will be at my cottage in Tomahawk close to Minocqua for a good 5 days around cruiserfest.
Thanks for the write up Tom. It appears to be a 128" track to me as well, and a more refined apex than what we currently have. IMHO, the current apex is a nice sled, but I have yet to try more than a few miles ride on one.

All of this talk about wieght makes me think about someone who has never driven a 4 stroke. I have ridden several and the wieght is not an issue at all. The entire ride experience is unbelievable and if Yamaha has improved on that, I am interested!
Great write up Mr.Sled!

I believe power steering is a good idea on a touring sled, but not really on a trail/sport sled. At some time I would expect it to merge into the sport relm but not right off the bat. The biggest reason we have not switched to a 4 stroke is cost. plain and simple. I can maintain a fleet of 4 for vertually minimal cost including oil. Which by the way is the only additional item a 2 stroke uses. Gas milage is not an issue as we ride with other sleds which are 4 stroke, We all generally use about the same. The 600 sx dlx uses the most though. I have gotten both 2 stroke sxr and an rx1 stuck. both are heavy when you are thigh deep in snow. Al

You can expect similar results on a snowmobile.

i guessing it has to weight something. my guess would be 10 to 20 lbs max.
power steering is going to make the sled feel 100lbs lighter.

If it has power steering I don't expect it will add much weight, if any. Trouble is it won't lighten it up any either!
I think anyone who is an active snowmobiler has riden a 4 stroke...the RX"one ton" has been around a long time!
LOL!
We all will be riding 4 strokes sooner or later...so far its later for me.
