viper driving me insane

oh..it's back to me..thanks Kirk.It is now becoming night time and is getting dark out..I think H1N1 Mod has a trick up his sleeve.Since his vision is getting really impaired and you think he is about to quit the race..he pulls out his house Cat that he had stored in his back pak.He duck tapes the Cat to his hood..now he has Night Vision......never saw that one coming...back to you Kirk.
 
But wait a min the French Canadian ( no offence there MOD) has stopped... Oh never mind ....he had to blow his nose... lol... And he is off again...
 
yes I saw that,a few sleds went into the rocks behind him.B ut he is going full tilt.Wait ..he has past the Arctic Cat now ..on his way to get the Polaris now..wait..what..he is now downing bottles of Vitamin C one after another and washing it down with Red Bull...he even puts some in his gas tank..wow what a race..back to you Kirk
 
He passes the Polaris' and throws a bottle of vitamin C at the team, as he blows by the 800 dragons... screamin take that you mother F@#$ers... its gonna be a close race , but the maxi pad, kotex,royal, bombardier is still in the lead... But wait Here comes Bluemonster with a death wish..
 
bluemonster passes mod and shoots ice pellets into his facemask and the Cat.Blue passes the doo easily and is on his way...but but..from behind comes mod again and trying hard reaches in his back pack and grabs a spare ski(Ithink them ski's where yours Kirk..he got them from the Montreal Post Office) and he tosses it at the doo...the doo looses control and rolls half dozen times and Mod just about hits him but manages to control his sled...He is out for the man they call Blue..back to you Kirk..loll

I got news that Kirk just past out,so it's me only..loll.You missed the finish Kirk..it was great.Mod came on but then ran out of gas last 100 feet....so this years winner was Blue...lmao Kirk where are you.. ;):D ;):D ;):D :rofl: :rofl: Should of known better,,Mod drove right over him......THE END!!!

PS:Kirk was it worth it to go and pick up that ski and get run over in the process.

I am having the same issue with my sled not running right and no headlight or hand warmer probloms. I have cleaned the carbs, replaced all reeds, repaired and cleaned ajusted power valves. I tested my stator and it is not even close to the .036-.80 ohms. I am getting .004 on it. I am just waiting for the new one to get here. What #'s did you get when you tested yours?

OOPS- nevermind just found the big thread on it below. Should've looked around first.

I heated my garage and put a heater in the engine compartment, the temp was up near 70 deg. From what i am reading that is how its done, hope the engine does not have to be warmed up, cause i have the stator out now.

I see we're neighbors. I'll be home this weekend and the Salt river still has ice but it's going away pretty quick (rain and 47 expected Sunday). If you need some help or want to do some testing send me a PM.

Yes, it's a good idea to test the stator at different temps as the concern might not show itself at just one temp.

Yea i have been taking my Viper out to the Salt River to do my testing, I live over at 24 and Sass. I may have to take you up on your offer to help test, i am taking the stator up to Marvs auto electric today to see what he says about it, hopefully he can tell me if it is bad or not. If so i have to get a new on ordered. Hopefully this will be the problom. I tried sending you a PM but it says your mailbox is full....lol

Tried again, this is what it says...
1.snomofo has exceeded their stored private messages quota and can not accept further messages until they clear some space.
 
Had the same problem on a viper with hauck pipes, after several hours with troubleshoting the problem was so simple as the engine did not get enough air!! i only try to take off the element air cleaner and the problem was away.
After this i changed the air jets in the carb and the sled turned in to a rocket.
 
It acting as if the DCS is retarding your engine and you did say your lights where not working on the dash ths maybe why you don't relize it is the DCS. Do you guys have tripple pipes or silencers? Bad gas will also cause it to come on.
 
I was having this problem with my slp piped viper and i think my problems was that i was getting snow on the air box filter and was causing it to bog,iv'e since put on a outerwear prefilter but havn't had a chance to see if this fixes my problem.
 
I called hauck on my DCS light coming on and also talked to a well know yamaha dealer that has alot of race sleds and they both told me the tripple pipes will put off a different sound that the DCS will detect and retard the motor thinking it is knocking. They both told me I can either just live with it or you can remove it which it is in an empty hole and intall it in too the brace that runs on the right hand side.
 
If this is a 02 viper you don't have a DCS light.At least mine doesn't anyway
