Can a SRX short block be used in place of the Viper short block/lower end? Cases are the same number, crank assy. has a different part number, pistons have a different part number also. I thought i read that they were interchangeable.
Found a SRX lower end but haven't found any Viper lower ends hence the question.
Your feedback is appreciated.

It will depend on the year of block, the '98/'99 had a different stator mounting location than the 2000 & up. I think if you get the 2000 up srx case it will work.
Similarities between SRXs + Vipers:
-only the 2000 - 2002 SRX cases are the same as the Viper cases.
-you can only use the 2000 - 2002 SRX crankshafts in a Viper and vise versa[I have a Viper crank in my 2002 SRX]
-the pistons between the Vipers + SRXs are interchangeable
-Viper + SRX cylinders + Heads are not interchangeable without some machining and exhaust fabrication
Hope that helps.
