02 Viper ER--------3800 miles
About halfway through a 80 mile ride yesterday,when just starting to move from a dead stop at about 5 mph I'm getting a "chuck-chuck- chuck" when the clutch is engaging,goes away or I can't hear it above slow speeds.
Can sort of feel it in the bars,seems like it was from the right side,and sounded just like a broken tooth on a chain gear.
Wasn't.
Chain was spotless,chain and gears look new,no crud.
I'm almost postive it's in the drive line.
Nothing loose,all looks ok to me with the pri and sec sheaves.
Any thoughts?
Any easy way to check the drive shaft bearings without pulling it all apart?

Pull off the secondary and the speedo gear cover plate. With a small flat screwdriver or pick you can remove the seal that is on the bearing. Once the seal is off you can see the bearing cage. If its dry and full of rust colored dust, its toast. Other that you will need to remove them and check them.

Did you make sure the drive belt doesn't have a bad spot on it. I had a vmax that I could have swore the noise was coming from the chaincase and it ended up being a bad drive belt.

After pulling the Chaincase apart,expecting to spend thousands on gears and chain,,decided to pull the air box to visual the jack shaft bearings,,,,,,,,
The one hex head bolt that connects the top section of the air box had come out and dropped down and got wedged on the top side of the jack shaft with the head/washer aft!!
It dug a groove in the belly pan,no it sounded like steel on steel.

Good to hear that is was an easy fix. 
I had the same noise. 1hr shop rate, I find out it was my brake disc free play. So I'm going out today and get a new belt$$$$$.
