I have a 2001 srx. I just bought it a few months back after it sat for 2 years. I just rebuilt the carbs and cleaned the powervalves and replaced the plugs. I have 125 psi on all 3 cylinders and the sled has 2500 miles. It starts right up but as soon as you pin the throttle it dies out and stumbles. When you let it idle back down to 1800 rpm and pin it it screams like it should, but as soon as you give it throttle it stumbles and doesn't get over 3000 rpm almost like it is running out of fuel or hitting a rev limit. I'm totally lost. I figured between doing the carbs, cleaning the povervalves and new plugs I would be good to go. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!!!!

Ok what's the TORS? The throttle postion sensor on the side of the carb? Are you talking about the two bullet connectors?

Yea the 2 bullet connectors... thats your tors connection.... re wire them to each other..

I think it stands for throttle overide sensor... or something I could be wrong... but the throttle postion sensor is tps... Tors is a sensor that when it feels that your throttle is sticking it will activate and prevent your sled from reving out and blasting away on you without touching the throttle... its good to have... but alot of people seem to have them go wacky on them...

TORS stands for throttle over-ride system. TPS, or throttle position sensor, is different. The two bullet connectors are on the exhaust side of the carb rack. Unplug them and then plug the two ends into each other. I would only do this to test, if it cures the problem try to figure out WHY it is engaging. Too tight of a throttle cable is the first thing to check.

Ok would my 2 inch bar riser have something to do with it? I try the tors connections tomorrow.

I would check to make sure you still have some play with your risers.. . but you should be ok.. they are good up to 3.5 inches (rerouted) stock lines... just check out the cable and if its tight... that might be the culprit... would just need to give it some more slack if it is tight... you wont need new cables though not with 2inch risers

Yup it was the cable. I adjusted it and problem solved. Thanks guys for your help. I have another question. What exactly does the TORS do? I don't know of any other sleds that have this.

The TORS overrides your throttle so if your throttle sticks wide open the sled will shut down to an idle. There is a switch in your throttle and on the carbs that completes the circuit.
