Wondering if anyone has any idea why my oil light stays on everytime I start my viper. It stays on for about 5 minutes after starting. Eventually it goes off, but I don't want to keep riding it this way. I've actually put about 500 miles on since this started, but would like to figure it out. Bad sensor? Pump going bad?? Thanks

Probably a bad/sticking sending unit. Tank is always full i presume?
It happens all the time, when oil tank is topped off and at lower tank levels.
Is there a way to check sending unit and/or fix if sticking/bad??

the sending unit pulls out of the oil bottle, remove air box to get at it better, you'll see it.
just check to see if it's moving good making contact, you'll see..

Where is the sending unit? Is it the same part as the fuel pump that pumps both fuel and oil to the motor? Thanks

The sending unit is in the oil bottle. you'll see it when the air box is removed,it just pulls up and out,you can check the wiring also for rub throughs.

Thanks much for the help. I found the sending unit. I pulled it out and put back in and disconected the connector and plugged back in. Now I can't get the oil light issue to happen anymore. Not sure what or if I fixed anything, but we'll see if I get the problem again. If it was a bad connection, would the oil light go off 5 minutes after starting? Thanks again for your help.

well the only time the light should come on is if the tank is low on oil other wise it should be off all the time.
sounds like you just had a bad connection problem.
