First thanks for all the great info on this site.
My '02 viper is showing all the signs of a bad stator. Dim lights (even on low beam), runs terrible if the warmers are plugged in, can't run a heated shield. Mis-firing if the warmers are turned on.
I found the info here regarding rubbed wires and testing voltages. I will check these things once its back in my garage from my buddies' house.
But I've only found posts here of people buying new or used stock stators.
So my question is, if the stock stators are known to fail, would it be better to have the stator rebuilt? Rickystator.com for example. It seems they might do a better job than stock.
Any thoughts? Any other rebuild vendors I should consider?
Sorry if this has been covered. I searched for a while without luck. Of course I often can't find things that are right in front of me.
