Hey Guys.
I have an 02 srx which Ive owned for many years and this year for some reason I keep plugging the middle cylinder pilot jet. They all were plugged with shit this Fall when I cleaned them. Ive been on two rides this winter and both times the pilot has become replugged. I will replace the pilot jet with a new one this next time around.
Shouldn't the fuel filter prevent this? What else to do or check? I definitely don't trust this ethanol fuel.

There's a fuel screen under your floats that could be dirty and keeps plugging your pilots... There was a thread not too long ago on it... I cant pin point who told us about it... if i come accross it ill send ya the link...
Might have to flush tank out and replace fuel filter.... May have stuff floating around in there....

There is a fine screen on the fuel needle seat. You need to take out the small philips screw which holds the metering seat in the carb body. This screen can get plugged over time. This junk can break up into finer material and make its way into the pilot jets. I just cleaned the screens in my carbs, the screens were covered over with a fuzzy buildup, probbaly from the filter in the tank which was several years old. After cleaning the carbs, I purged all the old gas out by applying a low pressure compressed air to the vent line which pushed the gas out of the supply line. I refilled the tank with 2 gallons of fresh gas and repeated the process. I changed the gas filter in teh tank, what a pain that was, had to stretch the fuel line to get the filter out of the tank. I filled the tanl with fresh gas, connected the fuel supply line from the gas tank to the fule pump and applied low pressure compressed air again to purge the fresh gas through the main supply line through the pump and out of each of the 3 carb lines. Connected up the freshly cleaned carbs, now ready to ride

the more filters/waterseperaters you put on, the more fuel restiction you put in system! if you have to much restiction you will go lean at higher rpms even if you are jetted rich, one filter is enough! you can put 20 on there and it will not stop contaminated fuel! you have to clean and flush entire system....
