Im in the process of installing these rods and they are giving me a hard time. I bought them used from a guy that had them on his 99 SRX. Is there drilling required? The rods are almost 2" longer than stock when held next to each other. They will bolt up but they is no play in the suspension. I can jump up and down on the back of the sled and it still probably wouldnt move. Theres not to many possibilites. Its either there the wrong rods he sold me or i have to drill. Any suggestions. He told me they are the TC3's.

on the oems the upper half is a different part number from 99 to 00, also i thought i read in post in the past about two sets of holes for different rods, something to look into maybe, my proaction is gone or i'd try to take a look

you would need to drill new holes to put 98-99 rods on a 2000 and up sled . the 98-99 rods are longer than the newer ones.Gagt518 said:

Sorry to hyjack here but how come when I loosen the set screw and twist mine the length doesnt change? Right now I have a huge gap (max transfer) and nothing I do changes it.
Keep in mind that using the longer rods from the 98-99's will decrease weight transfer on your sled. The 98-99 srx's didn't tranfer weight very well so they shortened the rods for the 00-02 models.
Please clear some things up for me. Just so everyone knows were talking about the bender aftermarket rods being to long. Did Bender make 2 sets of TC3 rods for the SRX? One for the 98-99 and one for the 00-02? If so that would make plenty of sense. The rods came off a 99 skid so i would need to drill new holes in the slider rail to make them work on my 00?

whammy is right, where your mounting holes are, there is another hole a few inches behind it towards the rear wheels. guessing it mounts there because viper rods are also longer and mount in that location, if i had to guess the bender ones are the same length as stock viper, just has the hand adjustable nut on them. i had a post on here a while ago about it but never got around to putting up pics, i will try to get to it tomorrow night after work.

when u have these rods on, make sure to greasee them up ALOT!! other wise they will seize kinda.

I think he's right. The hole will be behind the rear wheels roughly two inches back from the original hole. You'll have to remove the axle nut and back the wheels away from the rail to install the bolt.
Going from an SRX to Viper skid the rods were about two inches longer and are mounted in the rearward hole.
